Istanbul, the vibrant metropolis with its rich history, stunning architecture, and warm hospitality is a destination that has something for everyone. In this blog post, I'll take you on a journey through the bustling bazaars and breathtaking landmarks.

Explore the Sultanahmet District

My journey began in the historic Sultanahmet district, where I visited the magnificent Hagia Sophia. This former Byzantine church, Ottoman Mosque, and now museum is a monument to Istanbul's rich history. I love this place because it has played a significant role in both Islam and Christianity making it a symbol of religious tolerance and coexistence.

Next, I made my way to the Blue Mosque also known as the Sultan Ahmed Mosque. I appreciate its stunning blue tiles and six minarets. It was build during the reign of Sultan Ahmed the complex includes the tomb of Sultan Ahmed making it a significant historical landmark. I really love the part when Muslims pray together in congregation creating a sense of community and unity.

A Palace of Wonders: Dolmabahçe"

Today, Dolmabahçe Palace is home to several museums and exhibitions and the Carpet Collection. This palace is a treasure trove of architectural delights with 285 rooms, 46 halls, and 6 baths. Gardens are a sight to behold with beautifully manicured lawns, ornate fountains and walking paths. Make sure to add this true gem to your itinerary.

I like this palace so much as it shows a glimpse into the lives of the sultans and showcasing the opulence and grandeur of royal life. The unique decor, intricate carpets and ornate furnishings fascinate me to visit again.
